Pediatric Care

Pediatric Care supports children who need an outpatient review, emergency assessment, or admission to hospital. Parents and guardians are important partners in every child's care, and we will keep you informed and involved throughout.

HOW TO ACCESS THIS SERVICE

Three steps for pediatric care

Choose the right entry point

For an emergency, please call 911 or come directly to the Emergency Room. For a routine review, please use the clinic or referral pathway.

Bring key information

Please bring your child's identification, immunisation card, current medications, allergies, clinic notes, and recent test results. The more we know, the better we can help.

Stay involved

Parents and guardians help by explaining symptoms, comforting the child, and following the care team's instructions. You know your child best.

What to expect

Before your visit

Please write down your child's symptoms, when they started, any medication given, allergies, and any change in feeding, breathing, activity, or urination.

On arrival

Children with urgent symptoms will be assessed quickly. Waiting time depends on how urgent each child's condition is, not the order of arrival.

During care

The team may request tests, give medication, observe your child, or admit them if closer monitoring is needed. We will explain each step to you.

When to seek urgent help

Please seek emergency care for difficulty breathing, seizures, severe dehydration, severe pain, blue lips, or unusual drowsiness. Trust your instincts as a parent.
