Maternity Services

Maternity Services provide care during pregnancy, labour, delivery and the postnatal period, including care for high-risk pregnancies and urgent obstetric conditions.

Three steps for maternity care

1

Keep your maternity and antenatal information together

Bring your identification, antenatal or clinic card, referral information if applicable, current medicines and pregnancy-related test results.
2

Attend scheduled care

Keep antenatal and follow-up appointments and complete the tests, medicines and monitoring recommended by your maternity team.
3

Come in for labour or urgent symptoms

Come to hospital promptly for labour or urgent pregnancy concerns. Call 911 if you cannot travel safely or the situation is an emergency.

Visit Information

Before your visit

Bring your antenatal record, identification, medicines, test results and any instructions from your doctor or clinic. If you are coming because of urgent symptoms, do not delay care to collect paperwork.

On arrival

The maternity team will assess you and your baby, confirm the reason for attendance and direct you to the appropriate maternity care area.

During your visit

Care may include maternal and fetal monitoring, labour and delivery care, postnatal support, newborn assessment, breastfeeding support and discharge planning.

Urgent or safety advice

Seek urgent care for heavy bleeding, severe pain, seizures, severe headache with concerning symptoms, reduced fetal movement, fever with illness, or another sudden deterioration. Call 911 when emergency transport is needed.
